Unique HIRAM RICKER & SONS Poland Spring Maine Stock Certificate Signed
In 1869, Hiram Ricker turned over the management of Poland Spring to his eldest son, Edward Payson Ricker, under the name of Hiram Ricker & Sons.
This is an exceptional unique and rare stock certificate issued to a Hiram Ricker Jr. (he was the grandson of the founder and son of the Treasurer of the company) in return for the surrendering of an earlier issued stock (#7). It is certificate number 10 and dated 1921 and is for 1 share of the company. It is signed by both Edward Ricker (President), his father Hiram W. Ricker (Treasurer) along with his uncle Charles W. Ricker and himself..
The Ricker family lost control of the company in 1937 due to lagging business during the Great Deporession, overwhelming debt and leadership succession problems.

Very Good Condition. Minor edge wear and toning. Cancelation stamps.
